The challenge
When two young chefs approached us to help them create a name for their new restaurant in the Seattle area, we couldn’t wait to sink our teeth into the challenge. Utilizing their extensive culinary skills and passion for the cuisine of their native Spain, Andre and his partner Tristan sought to create not only an elegant dining experience with their new restaurant, but also to introduce their patrons to the incredible beauty and rich traditions of their homeland.

The Mediterranean, with its bounty of fresh seafood, had to be the focal point of any name we created, as did the locally grown organic fruits and vegetables the chefs planned to incorporate into their menu. The color palettes being considered for the interior of the restaurant were warm ambers and shades of olive green. Rich cordovan leather seating with dark wood trim also alluded to the ambience and lifestyle of the Mediterranean.

The resolution
Our job was to create a name in both sight and sound that would immediately impart a sense of beautiful living, or the Bella Viviente. In her overall design scheme, our graphic designer chose to include the olive greens and warm ambers the customers would notice when they entered the restaurant. We also thought it important to graphically represent the sea by incorporating linear elements into the design.

If fine dining in an elegant atmosphere was the dream of Andre and Tristan, Bella Viviente certainly helped to make that dream come true.
